Applying for Membership
The Railway Modellers’ Club of Queensland (RMCQ) is a not-for-profit community organisation.
Prospective members are welcome to visit the clubrooms on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 9:30 am and 1:00 pm. No appointment is necessary. If you would prefer to visit at another time, please contact us on 0490 257 193 to make suitable arrangements.
During your visit, members will be pleased to show you around the clubrooms and introduce you to the facilities and some of our members.
Those wishing to join the Club are required to complete a membership application, which will be submitted to the Committee for consideration.

There is a broad range of reasons why people choose to join as associate members, for example:
(1) People who live a long distance from the club.
(2) People with medical issues.
(3) Older modellers who have sold their kit but like to have a coffee, watch trains and socialise.

Family
We no longer have family memberships. The spouse, and (under 18) children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren of all members have the same privileges as the main member, but do not receive a free shirt and name plate, and may not vote. As children turn eighteen, they are to apply for their own membership.
Cost of Membership
The membership application shows the current annual fees and joining fee. The joining fee includes a club shirt and name tag for the main member only.
Lockers
Members who want to leave things at the clubrooms may hire a lockable locker for $10 per annum.
Obligations of Membership
All members are required to comply with our Rules of Association and By-laws.
Within their physical capacity, they are also expected to contribute to the maintenance of the club’s buildings and grounds, occasional working bees, and fundraising activities. Many hands make light work.
Within their physical capacity, work commitments, or other external obligations, they are also expected to attend at least two monthly gatherings, or one monthly gathering and the Annual General Meeting each year.
