A Multi-Deck Layout Featuring Staging, Long Mainlines & Expansive Scenery
RMCQ’s permanent N scale layout is a modern, innovative, multi-level railway built on a strong steel-tube framework. It offers long mainline running, large staging yards and plenty of operational variety, making it ideal for both relaxed running and full operating sessions.
The layout currently contains two independent decks with provision for a future third deck.
Bottom Deck
Completed in 2018, the bottom deck is designed for relaxed running and light operations.

This deck is perfect for members who enjoy simply watching trains run or running long trains without interruption.
Top Deck
The top deck offers a wide range of operational possibilities and a long, scenic run for DCC-equipped trains.

- Large double-ended staging yard
- Multiple towns, stations and industries
- Plenty of shunting and switching opportunities
- A detailed wharf scene
- Operators can follow their train, or view the layout from several fixed positions, thanks to the open-back design
- Around 75% of the scenery is complete, creating a visually rich environment full of operational interest.
